Crisis Events
Hurricane Ida Relief, Escaped Convict Town Hall and HS visit for Plane Crash area

Hurricane Ida

Hurricane Ida passed through Pennsylvania and New Jersey leaving a path of death and destruction. At least a dozen were killed across the two states. Wind speeds were recorded in excess of 130 mph and the extensive rainfall

caused local rivers and their tributaries to overflow resulting in regional flooding. Thousands of homes encountered overwhelming damage. The catastrophic results left the residents across the area needing help from their local governments. One such point of assistance was the Chester County Hurricane Ida Recovery and Resource Center set up to allow residents to file for financial aid for clean up/repair services and insurance assistance. Ingrid was in attendance to offer comfort for those struggling emotionally to handle their losses.

Escaped Convict

Danilo Cavalcante was convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend. Shortly after sentencing he escaped from the Chester County Prison in Pocopson Township. A county wide manhunt began that stretched over several local municipalities. Cavalcante was on the loose for the better part of two full weeks. During this time he was tracked through  neighborhoods and even reportedly being seen in the backyards of local residents. His escape, the ability to avoid the police and the fact he was a convicted murderer on the loose created much anger, frustration and anxiety throughout the County. Local officials, including the County Commissioners and local law enforcement departments held a Town Hall meeting in the gymnasium of Pocopson Middle School to update the residents on how the escape occurred and the status of the manhunt. Ingrid was present at the Town Hall meeting to provide comfort for the anxious and scared local residents.

Plane Crash in Northeast Philadelphia

Early in 2025 a small passenger plane crashed in the Northeast area of Philadelphia. The crash killed all six people on board and two additional people on the ground. The plane had landed to be refueled at the Northeast airport before taking off again for its next destination. The crash occurred almost immediately after takeoff resulting in a violent and destructive explosion. The crash destroyed four homes and damaged over three hundred additional properties. Local schools and businesses were closed for several days to cope with the loss of life and  the damage to homes and businesses impacted by the crash. Shortly thereafter, Ingrid was able to visit and provide comfort to students at St. Hubert's High School located 1.5 miles from the crash site.
