Special Events
Our normal schedule of visits is very meaningful however because of Ingrid's popularity and visibility, she has been invited to be a part of many Special Events that go beyond the typical individual visit or small group meeting. We went to the Collie Club of America Nationals to receive the Ambassador Award. The Chester County Commissioners invited us to their monthly meeting to receive a Proclamation. Ingrid has marched in the Kennett Square Memorial Day Parade the past two years and was the first dog to "throw out" the first pitch at a Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs game. The Reading Royals invited her to do the ceremonial puck drop and she has attended awards dinners to help welcome the guests. Ingrid is the "mascot" for a college Alumni group so appears at their restaurant and social events. We were the invited guest speakers for the Rotary Club of West Chester to talk about service and our therapy visits. While these might not be the typical things where you would expect to see a therapy dog, Ingrid was still able to meet many new friends, bring some happiness to whom she met and all the while continue to advocate for the the benefits of Pet Therapy.
